The moment a person gets hooked into surfing – when you know that they will forever join the chosen few who passionately pursue the sport – is simple to pin point … just look for the unbreaking smile from ear to ear when they catch their first several waves. Look around at your local line up, and you know who those people are … they still have that quiet, knowing smile. Sometimes, they have pure and unadulterated jubilation as they hoot and holler down the face of the wave.
We, as surfers, have all been there before – the beginning stages of becoming a surfer. But this time, we at this site have managed to wrangle an honest to goodness first time newbie surfer on her first day of surfing and convinced her to chronicle her adventures as she moves through the stages of becoming a true and bona fide surfer.
We will follow her adventures and misadventures on a weekly basis as she relays her experiences to us via a new feature we have name “Diary of a New Surfer“. So stay tuned and laugh & learn from Tricia and her diary … learn about paddling out to the surf, waxing your board, surf etiquette, surfing accessories, and all the bumps and bruises that you will learn to love as you develop into a surfer.
Rob love surfing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing. He’s writing about them in this blog.
